The Australia Economic Strategy Report has been prepared as a response to the India Economic Strategy Report, 2035, released by Australia in July 2018. The report has been put together by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) team, led by Ambassador Anil Wadhwa, Former Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs, with contribution from KPMG in India. For ease of reference, each chapter related to focus areas consists of a synopsis at the beginning and a set of recommendations at the end. Several chapters with focus areas contain case studies which are relevant to the analysis, synopsis and recommendations. Chapter 7 contains strategies to implement the opportunities highlighted in the report. Projections in the report were put together in 2019, much before the onset of the Covid -19 pandemic and hence some of them may no longer hold true in the short to medium term. To the extent possible, a few projections/ recommendations have been modified and updated just before finalisation of the report in May, 2020.
